Here you can see some desktop
with the NewsBar at the top. NewsBar shows the news from different
channels and has many options for tuning. You can place it at the
top or at the bottom of your desktop and specify the number of rows.
Each row can contain one or more "news panels" and each
panel can show the news from one or more channels. NewBar is always-on-top
application bar (like Windows task bar) so it allows you to read
the news without interruption your main work.
NOTE: the programs that are shown on this
screenshot under NewsBar panel (at the top of the desktop) are NOT
the part of Newspiper program. They are placed here just to show
that you can do your everyday work while Newspiper brings the latest
news on your desktop.
This screenshot demonstrates the main window of Newspiper
where you can read the news from all channels in usual three-panes
mode (channels, headlines, descriptions). Unlike other RSS readers
and aggregators which has linear list of channels Newspiper allows
to organize channels tree and read all news from some group (node)
of channels simultaneously.

news aggregator. You can group all shown news by channels, sort
them by date/time or title and filter by period or some keywords.
Additionally you can choose the way how news descriptions are shown
- right before the news title or at the bottom of headlines panel.
Newspiper allows you to select the channels from "Online channel
catalog" which contains many popular web-sites and RSS feeds.
Additionally you can easily add necessary channel by one of the
following ways:
manually enter URL of RSS or ATOM feed in "Add new channel
dialog";
drag-n-drop feed shortcut from web-browser (usually such shortcurs
are provided by small [RSS] or [XML] button on web-pages) on
the main window of Newspiper or on the NewsBar;
finally, you can simply copy/paste necessary URL. "Copy"
in web-browser, using "Copy link location" or simular
menu item in context popup menu and "Paste" it in
the main Newspiper window;
As we described above the NewsBar can contain several news panels.
Each news panel can be tuned by different settings: its position
within NewsBar, the way news are shown in the panel (creeping
line, some change effect, etc.), display speed and other parameters.
News panel's (ticker's) settings are easy accessible through right-click
on necessary panel or from "Configurate panels" menu
in the main window.
